Job Description

Since 1912 Sturgeon Electric has been providing comprehensive electrical construction services to clients in Colorado and throughout the western United States. Sturgeon Electric performs all types of electrical construction, including Commercial & Industrial, Line, Traffic, and Low Voltage & Communications, and is an industry leader in OSHA’s VPP Safety Program.   

We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our transportation division in Denver, CO.  
Project Manager Duties:  

  • Manage all aspects of transportation related electrical construction and maintenance projects  
  • Ability to develop and maintain long term client and industry relationships  
  • Monitoring progress and costs of projects  
  • Administer and manage subcontractors   
  • Develop and maintain project schedules   
  • Coordinating meetings, scheduling updates, submitting deliverables and addressing outstanding ‘open items’ as requested by clients  
  • Preparation of look-ahead documents and weekly, monthly progress reports and billing information  
  • Reporting to management team  
  • Other duties as assigned  
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable  

Job Requirements

Project Manager Qualifications:  

  • Candidate must possess experience in understanding blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services  
  • 5 years or more of experience in the electrical or heavy civil industry and/or possessing project management experience 
  • Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera 
  • Experience in the construction of traffic signal, roadway lighting and intelligent transportation systems projects preferred.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred  
  • State electrical license or IMSA Level II preferred  
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required throughout CO and surrounding areas  
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills  
  • Must be a team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish  
  • Must be self-driven and have the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time  
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Project is required
